I fell in love with the meditation yurt at Esalen. The first painting was from afar, trying to get it all in at once. When it was done I was not satisfied. I wanted to paint it bolder. It was such a bold place; all beams and cushions. It was practically in the middle of a rushing stream. You could make any sort of a noise and no one would hear you from the roaring of the stream. The hours of meditation over the years could be felt, just by entering this sacred place. I could not get enough of it.
